Introducing 58Miles showcase photographer Chinmayee Inamdar from Pune.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got started in photography?
I started Product Photography in the year 2020, in my second year of Engineering. I stumbled upon a free course about Product Photography, and it I was immediately drawn to it. Since then, I've never looked back. It's been almost 4 years since then. I have worked with 150+ local clients, and 6 international clients as well.
What inspires your photography, and how do you choose your subjects or themes?
For me, lighting and colors are very exciting to play around with. The sun light creating various shadows and patterns is my inspiration. Along with that, I'm a keen observer of color palettes in our daily life.
What has been your most memorable photography project or shoot, or any inspiring story around it, and why?
Once I had taken on a big project of 175 images for the first time. It was a jewelry e-commerce shoot. I learnt to use the macro lens in that shoot. I worked through the night to meet the deadline. It gave me confidence to say yes to new things and that I was capable of fulfilling them.
What is your photography kit ? or we would say, what is in your camera bag?
I use Canon RP with 24-105mm lens and the classic 50mm lens. I also carry a pocket flash Godox Ad 100 pro. I often take colour gels with me, because I love to play around with lighting. Along with that, I make sure to keep lens blower and a cleaning cloth with me.
What advice would you give to photographers who are just starting out and looking to make a name for themselves?
1. Don't be afraid to reach out to clients.
2. Try new things, you never know what you might discover.
3. Always remember that your work is unique.
